First off, congratulations to Ollie Schniderjans for getting TONS of tv time being near the lead and doing it all with this beaut of a stache

Second, congrats to Rory McIlroy on winning his first Players and the largest earnings in PGA Tour history. I knew it all along. (Yes I did, I said Europeans would play well fuck you). It’s Rors’ 15th PGA Tour win and 24th win worldwide and first since the Arnold Palmer Invitational 364 days ago. I’m glad he took my advice when I told him it was ok to win some tournaments and he didn’t have to keep letting other people win. He can now cash his $2.25 million check. And he takes over as the leader in FedEx Cup points. Not a bad week of golf for the kid from Holywood. Just look how happy he is holding his new trophy:

Heartwarming stuff.

Tommy Fleetwood had a chance to win after 16 when he was 2 behind Rory with 2 to play and then he went and ripped his pants and turned into a clown when he hit his tee shot into the water on 17. He finished T5 with DJ and Snedeker.

I wish Jon Rahm won instead of finishing in a tie for 12th. He’s honestly my favorite golfer. He’s great for the game of golf. He goes for every green and gets pissed off and throws his tantrums and comes off as a villain but nobody gives a shit. Patrick Reed is wildly more hated, mostly due to his wife, Sergio made racist comments about Tiger like 20 years ago and people didn’t like that, Ian Poulter’s hobby is trying to get people fired from their jobs via Twitter, and Bryson DeChambeau is a dorky loser and golf fans try to find any excuse to make fun of him and hate him. All of these people are hated more than Rahm but they don’t have the on course antics like he does. Yeah Sergio was DQ’d from a tournament in Saudi Arabia for smashing some greens but none of them consistently throw tantrums like Rahm. Off the course, Rahm is a funny dude and hangs out with Larry Fitzgerald. He’s a genuinely awesome guy but sometimes he gets mad on the course which we all do so nobody can really say anything bad about him. And he’s gonna be a superstar in the sport for a bunch more years. I’ll toss in a little montage of Rahm getting mad for you guys.

(This was at the 2017 US Open. The best part of this is him punching the sign. That’s just a whole new level of psycho)

(Start the video at 1:15 if it doesn’t already start there)

“AHHHH! I’m so sick of this right now!”-Jon Rahm

The leaderboard was a monstrosity all day. Furyk, Rahm, Fleetwood, Abraham Ancer, Schniderjans, McIlroy, Eddie Pepperell, John Daly, Charles Barkley, this dude that blacked out on 6 Michelob Ultras

and both your parents were in the lead at some point today.

Jhonnatan Vegas also did this today:

70 feet and he aimed about 45 feet left of the hole. That ball had no business ending up anywhere near the cup. But that’s why he gets paid to play golf.

Tiger finished T30 at -6. Do you guys realize how insane this dude is for the game of golf? He didn’t finish top 10, not top 25 not top 40. And I still have to mention him in this blog. The guys who finished around him are essentially nobodies named Lucas Bjerregaard, Matt Wallace and Tom Hoge. That’s mind boggling. Just had to fan boy and blow my mind for a second there.

Other notable finishes include: Dustin Johnson at -13, Justin Rose at -12, Ollie Schniderjans at -10, Kevin Kisner is still doing Kevin Kisner things after finishing T22, Justin Thomas at -5, Rickie Fowler short +4 today to finish at -3, and Patrick Reed and Martin Kaymer tied for worst rounds of the day at +6 78.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day folks. Hope you all aren’t too “sick”.

Edit: I know I picked both Rahm and Fleetwood to win but I think I’m allowed two picks. You think it’s hard to pick a March Madness winner out of 64 teams? There’s more than twice as many golfers to pick from.
