I’m falling for Them

Hasn’t been much sox talk on here lately, which I attribute to the fact that no one wants to breathe life into the actual scenario the boys of summer have found themselves in. That scenario is playoff mode a month early and with half our original pitching staff.

Now, the Red Sox just came off a 7-2 west coast trip. In that 9 game span, they’ve picked up like 2 games on the second wild card slot. Where does that leave us now? 5.5 games out of postseason contention. Not great when you have 25 games remaining on the year. But to gain 1 foothold every five games, that’s also not out of the realm of possibility.

On top of all this, the Rays, who are currently in control of the second wild card ticket, dropped a game to the Orioles today. The Red Sox are postering for a 4.5 deficit by the end of the night making today’s game against the AL Central-leading Twins even more important.

Stuff me full of gabagool and call me Al Pacino, because “just when I thought I was out, they[Red Sox] pull me back in”. Add to the fact tickets are dirt cheap right now for home games, you can expect the riff-raff – AKA “the fun folk”, AKAKA “the real fans” – to be packing Fenway and blowing up the on-field mics around home plate. Must watch September baseball for these next 25 games.
