Rob Manfred you are dead my friend. You are dead. Yankee fans, eat your god damn words. You think you can hold down the King? Alex Cora will walk out of 2020 with his head held high. Maybe not so much for the Astros thing, but he knows damn well he returns to manage the Red Sox in 2021 with an immune system strong enough to kill a pandemic and an MLB investigation.
For all the cry babies saying strip the Red Sox, and it’s mostly the hates and losers of the New York fan base, keep crying. Because guess what? We did nothing wrong in the playoffs. And in the regular season, we did just as much sign-stealing to the same degree as the rest of the league. That’s why we got slapped with a second-round draft pick forfeiture.
Had the league came down on Cora and the team for relaying signs from second base like every ballplayer learns to do from Williamsport and on it would have been a nightmare. Why? Because the Yankees were caught using the TVs in 2018. The Dodgers were caught using the TVs in 2018. Just about every team did it. Maybe not to the degree of relaying it to the batter like the Astros, but they were sign stealing.
It took the entire length of this pandemic for Robby boy to make this announcement. Embarrassing. And we all knew it was coming. Kinsler said it. JD said it. Raffy said it. Moreland said it. Price said it. None of these guys cheated with the 2018 Red Sox and neither did Cora.
Case dismissed. 2021 World Series back on…. oh ya and Mookie is going to be happy to see his manager back in the league!
