Positive. Mental. Attitude. No more negativity in 2020 folks. That’s going to be a tough ask 3 months before general elections, but let’s do our best to manage. With that being said we won’t be talking about how the Red Sox are a game under .500 with 4 of those losses at the hands at presumably the worst sports franchises in the 21st century. That’s not important, and neither is the fact Bloom traded away Ted Williams reincarnate for zero pitching all in an effort to reset a luxury tax that now won’t reset.
But like I originally said, positive mental attitude.
#1: JBJ is still doing JBJ
Jackie is ready to single everyone to death with this line .348/.400/.435. For a guy as streaky as Jackie I’m happy he’s doing this now all before the league comes crashing down. And on the defensive side of the ball, well again not much has changed. The guy is jumping out of shoes, quite literally last night, to snag balls most humans named Mike Trout could never imagine getting to.
#2: Vazquez to the hall
4 ding dongs in 6 games played from a guy who was splitting time three ways just two years ago. I’m not great with math and I don’t think any statistics can come from those numbers but it sounds pretty damn impressive. Will the hot streak ever stop? Ya, but only because it’ll be pandemic induced.
#3 One Ace
Nate Eovaldi has a sub 3 ERA and I honestly am surprised we have one good pitcher at the moment. That’s about it. Nate has done well, I will not be saying anything negative about the rest of our pitching staff sucking.
Wow, one week in and three positive headlines. Who would have thought! I’ll see you all next week for hopefully at least one more positive thing to add, I know its a lot to ask for but cross those fingers.
