Clickbait King? You could say that, I certainly won’t. But surely I won’t stop you from doing so.
NO, Mr. Deion Sanders will not be coming to Boston in any sporting capacity as far as my sources are aware. However, a different primetime is linked to a Boston Sports team.
The number 47.
For those who skipped math class 47 is in fact a prime number despite much debate on the matter. That stubborn lil’ guy just refuses to be broken down. Quite admirable. Much powerful.
Not only is 47 a prime number, and deserves unlimited appreciation for that achievement alone, but 47 is the probability that your 2021 Boston Red Sox will be making the playoffs.
Released by Fangraphs earlier today, the Red Sox were projected with a 47% chance of reaching the playoffs by either winning the division(that alone is likely <5%) or by Wild Card. Below 50% is nothing to proud of, especially if you grew up in the 2000s. That ain’t gunna cut it. But with how everything has developed since 2019, you can’t be too upset with 47%.
Obviously, I still remain bitter and curmudgeonly about how things have broken down and that the Red Sox won’t actually be competitive on a level that is par with the Yankees. Heck not even par with the Blue Jays. But neither of those teams will even have a shot with the monsters that have been created in the NL this offseason. So, if I have to settle for less-likely than not making the playoffs in a year that has already been designated as a rebuild year I will take that as a moral victory.
We need positive mental attitude in 2021. Just go with it.
