Vacations.
Did people go on them in like the 50’s? Was that a common thing for someone from Boston to go to Orlando for a week? Or would they vacation down the Cape and at Bretton Woods and stuff because you could run back home and get money if you needed to?
Banks are my problem here. Would you have to meticulously plan for the vacation before? Like $10 a night at the hotel and then the family would be allowed like $3 total per meal? And then $500 for t shirts? And how would you get the menus of a place in Orlando without Google?
Cuz today, you can go wherever and make a withdrawal. What happens if you run out of money on a 50’s vacation? Do you just become homeless and ride the freight rails?
If I left town in 1950, did I have to bring all my money first or could they send me a pigeon with a $5 bill on its leg? Would you have to put a little money on the pigeon when you sent it back as a tip? How the fuck did they train pigeons to send messages?
